If you have already had a breast augmentation and are not happy with the results an implant exchange or pocket revision may be necessary. Dr. Lee specializes in this procedure and does a few of these cases a week. They are not the most straight forward cases. A first time Breast Augmentation may take a little over an hour of surgical time, while an implant exchange may be a 3 ½ hour surgery. Dr. Lee’s technique and attention to detail are unparalleled. There are also new things like Siri Mesh that can be used as an internal support or BellaDerm that is used to prevent a secondary capsular contracture. These are great new tools Dr. Lee is using frequently with beautiful results.

If you have had your implants for many years or have a ruptured implant it is also time for an implant exchange. The breast implant material and the capsule are removed together. The pocket is thoroughly cleaned out, and a new implant of same or different size can be placed to improve the look and feel of the breasts. The silicone breast implants available to women today are very different from the ones that were used in the 1970s and the 1980s. They are made of thick, strong and durable shells and are filled with “cohesive and form-stable” silicone gel material. This means the implants are now semi-solid in texture. These implants are known as “cohesive gel”, “memory gel”, or “gummy bear” implants.

Also, when implants are exchanged out to a smaller size implant or when the patient chooses not to have breast implants anymore, a breast lift is usually required.

If you may need an implant exchange call today and speak to our highly trained and experienced staff. They can answer any and all questions for you regarding the procedure, pricing, and down time.
